MAN CITY v Leicester – The PREVIEW: City’s Probable Team

3 Mar

Bacary Sagna was a decent bet to start against Barcelona and Liverpool when defensive solidity was the order of the day, but in a game when attacking thrust will be needed from wide, Pablo Zabaleta should get the nod. Likewise on the left, Aleks Kolarov was surprisingly selected at the weekend at Anfield, with Gael Clichy now hopeful of coming for this clash with Leicester. A personal preference would be to hand Angelino a debut in what is, on paper at least, a comfortable fixture, but that will never happen. As for the centre-backs, who knows what Manuel Pellegrini will do…

Wilfried Bony is in line for his first start and he’s a decent 5/1 to open the scoring. Open an account here and get a free bet of up to £25!

Jesus Navas is a contender to start on the right instead of Samir Nasri, with Wilfried Bony also pushing to be given a chance to show what he can do. Despite scoring against Liverpool, Edin Dzeko would be the one to miss out.

Here is the side Pellegrini could select:

Manchester City 4-2-2-2 football formation

Referee: Bobby Madley.

Prediction: MAN CITY 3 – 1 Leicester – This should, of course, be a simple City victory, but confidence is likely to be shot after the last two defeats. Still, even if Leicester show heart and spirit, City’s quality should rise to the top and we should have enough to get back to winning ways.

Frank Lampard to come off the bench and score the last goal of the game is tempting at 9/1.

Highly doubt bony will start, he has been terrible or anonymous in every single minute he has played so far in a city shirt, and dzeko has scored 2 in his last 3.
I would quite like to see kompany tried out in midfield next to yaya, as his current performances have been dreadful and I find it completely ridiculous that demichelis has actually missed out on games to accommodate mangala (or even kompany), as he has been our best centre back for the past two half seasons.

Your guess as is good as anyone’s VfaB
I don’t have a clue what Pellers will do, but seriously – Leicester?

Even our dodgy EDS should be a shoe in for that!

Can’t wait for th 5 years it wil take of the U 18′s to come through!

You are right about Angelino, (also Ambrose and one or two others) and the next gen from there, even better.

That’s an idea blob with vk in the middle. I agree with you about MDM who has being excellent for us, Manuel is talking foolish if he thinks he won’t be sacked. Let’s see what he can do until the end of the season. I hope he turns things around he has a bit of respect about him that I like.

Bobby also thought he would not be sacked while he had a title, FA CUP and runner up to EPL and FA in his 3.5 years.

Which ever team Pelle puts out should be able to blow the Silver Fox’s away. Don’t expect Milner to be picked having signed up for the Dippers.

No more Nasri and Silva in the same starting eleven. One or the other, we are very lightweight in midfield with them both on the pitch. Obviously Silva would be my first choice.
