Stoke v MAN CITY – The PREVIEW: City’s Probable Team

10 Feb

Elaiquim Mangala’s power in the air, even if he remains uncertain positionally, may get him the nod over Martin Demichelis as Manuel Pellegrini looks to shuffle things around in a bid to rediscover winning ways. Gael Clichy’s impressive recent form should keep him in the side ahead of Aleks Kolarov.

Sergio Aguero is 5/1 and David Silva a tempting 11/1 to score the first goal of the game with Paddy Power. Claim a £25 free bet when you sign up here.

James Milner is desperate to be named in the starting eleven after his heroics at the weekend, with Edin Dzeko, Samir Nasri and perhaps even Fernando viable candidates to make way. Jesus Navas is another contender to come in, with Sergio Aguero likely to lead the line on his own.

Here is the side Pellegrini could select:

Manchester City 4-2-3-1 football formation

Referee: Lee Mason.

Prediction: Stoke 1 – 1 MAN CITY – This is almost a default prediction for games at the Britannia. Invariably, they’re close, anxious and devoid of too much quality. City are low on confidence, but are at their best with a point to prove. Still, it might be a tough ask to recapture our best form away to Stoke. I’ll predict goals from Aguero and Jon Walters.

Both Martin Demichelis and Pablo Zabaleta are surely worth a cheeky punt at 41/1 each to net the opening goal!

We need to attack Stoke with all we’ve got and play them off the park so Hart

    Zabaletta, Kompany, Mangala, Glichy,

    Navas, Nasri, Silva, Milner,

Aguero and either Dzecko or Jovetic

I would move Silva to left flank and start Milner as CM with Nasri joining later on during the game. Nasir and Lampard can be coming on later on once Stoke legs are tired.
