MAN CITY v Arsenal – The PREVIEW: City’s Probable Team

17 Jan

Vincent Kompany is set to return to the heart of defence after missing the past few weeks with injury. The only real selection dilemma for Manuel Pellegrini is who partners City’s formidable captain. Martin Demichelis has been the Blues’ best defender this season and his reading of the game against Arsenal’s movement and interplay would be a huge advantage, but Eliaquim Mangala will hope that his pace gets him the nod. Gael Clichy is likely to line up against his former club.

Pablo Zabaleta has been a major attacking threat recently and he’s 41/1 to score the first goal!

City are a tempting 5/1 to beat Arsenal on Sunday with Betfair!

In midfield, Samir Nasri is absent with a calf injury that could sideline him for three to four weeks and whilst that is undoubtedly a blow, it improves the likelihood of James Milner starting in this fixture and against Chelsea, and that’s nothing to complain about. Sergio Aguero is expected to return from the start, with Stevan Jovetic dropping to the bench.

Here is the side Pellegrini could select:

Manchester City 4-2-3-1 football formation

Referee: Mike Dean.

Prediction: MAN CITY 3 – 2 Arsenal – Both sides are far more comfortable bursting forward than they are shutting up shop, so we can expect an entertaining contest. If Sergio Aguero is anywhere near as sharp as he was before his layoff, then his clinical finishing could be the difference. I’ll back goals from Aguero, David Silva, Jesus Navas, Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez.

Sergio Aguero is 5/1 and David Silva is 9/1 to grab the opening goal of the game. Claim a free £25 bet when you sign up here!

Hope the narrative rings true, but I’ve got a bad feeling about tomorrow.

Without wanting to state the obvious, we really need to put in a big performance and then go on another big run. If we can stay with Chelsea till Bony and Toure get back, I think we can win the league

    Come on City

We need a winger that can finish navas always reachea the silva through balls but he can hit the target. Its sad that silva has only 2 assists and fabregas has 15 while silva isnt less creative.

I actually think Navas has been pretty good recently. He does a lot of defensive and backtracking and covers a lot of grounds. Putting his attacking and defensive work together, he ends up having a balanced and positive impact on the game. I would definitely start him tomorrow esp against Arsenal midfield that is very mobile

Navas is pretty shit. I think we need a winger that can finish ex: reus or pedro or schurrle.

I see yaya is talking shit again you can say what you like about navas, I like him unlike the big 42 he doesn’t play stupid politics or shame all of mankind with the birthday boy rant –
He causes no trouble gets the head down & is a solid team man, I would rather he had that than be like the flutehead 42′ navas is a fine pro, where you saying he was shit when he scored at Wembley??? Ask Munich or pep how shit he is. MDM & vk for c.b’ welcome aboard Mr boney glad we have you.

Dont understand this over the top singling out of Navas, yes he can be frustrating but the slating he is getting is unnecessary and unfair. He has been o.k this season but seems people have to make themselves feel better by aiming their daggers at least one of the team members you are supposed to support.

Navas playing fine, just would be nice if he could score a goal from time to time as it would make him formidable! Without the goals he’s not half as dangerous
