MAN CITY v QPR – The PREVIEW: City’s Probable Team

9 May

Vincent Kompany returned to training this week and will be desperate to figure in the starting eleven, although a personal view is that he should not be rushed in any way whatsoever. With his history of muscle injuries over the past few seasons and with no post-season international tournament, he ought to be allowed to rest completely. There is absolutely no need to throw him in to the picture for the last three matches.

Yaya Touré is 15/2 to score the first goal of the game. That looks excellent value with Paddy Power!

Yaya Touré is another one back fit again after sitting out the victory over Spurs, and he could find himself in a battle with either Fernando or Frank Lampard for a starting berth. Jesus Navas and Wilfried Bony are both vying to displace James Milner, depending on the formation selected by the manager.

Here is the side Manuel Pellegrini could select:

Manchester City 4-2-3-1 football formation

Referee: Mike Dean.

Prediction: MAN CITY 3 – 1 QPR – City might not have a great deal to play for, but confidence should be high after three consecutive wins. QPR were gritty and dogged in the return fixture earlier this season and they will no doubt be looking to repeat that. I’m backing goals from Sergio Aguero, Wilfried Bony and David Silva to see them off, with a consolation from Charlie Austin.

Fancy bringing back some memories? Pablo Zabaleta to score first and City to win 3-2 like in *that* game is 251/1.

2nd rather than 3rd could make a difference to champions league pots if UEFA are true to their word and they take account of finishing positions.

Think we may as well start getting used to life without Yaya anyway, I would go 4-4-2 with Bony and Aguero up top and the two Ferns, Silva and Navas in midfield

We need to guarantee at least third place & put in a solid display, a few goals would be very welcome. Congrats to eds & p.v on winning their first trophy. Is there anything in these rumors about pep & pogba?? I still say isco is worth fighting hard for. The lads deserve credit for rolling up their sleeves & winning the last three games. Its pointless playing v.k now, maybe a time for a couple of young lads for the bench. kelechi looks to be a massive star in the making. The ace in our expensive pack??

Regarding the 42 & his “agent” Daniel Taylor in the guardian has a good article about all that jazz – the pistol is loaded 42 – do you feel lucky? Well do you runt? (Just taking the p***)
