Swansea v MAN CITY – The PREVIEW: City’s Probable Team

16 May

Vincent Kompany has had another full week of training after his most recent injury, but with four wins on the bounce and just two games left this season, Manuel Pellegrini will no doubt be tempted to stick with the same back four that he has selected since the derby. If the manager does fancy shoring things up for this away fixture, Gael Clichy could step in for Aleks Kolarov.

Yaya Touré is 15/2 to score the first goal of the game. Get a free £25 bet when you sign up here!

Frank Lampard has featured much more heavily in the past month than he has all season, but he could sit this one out with Yaya Touré now back fit. Jesus Navas is vying with James Milner for a place on the right of midfield, whilst Wilfried Bony will have to settle for a place on the bench against his former club.

Here is the side Pellegrini could select:

Manchester City 4-2-3-1 football formation

Referee: Mark Clattenburg.

Prediction: Swansea 1 – 2 MAN CITY – Head says a draw, heart thinks City might just pinch it. Swansea are a dangerous team and they have caused us plenty of problems in the past with their intense pressing and technical comfort on the ball, but with confidence high and the players operating with a little more freedom than we have often seen, City do have enough for the three points.

It would be a good time for Eliaquim Mangala to open his City account and he’s a tempting 41/1 to grab the first of the match.

I think we have shown recently that aguero up top with silva behind is far better than two up top with silva as a winger, the extra body in midfield also adds a lot of balance, hope he doesn’t change it against an attacking possession based side like Swansea and stick bony in.
Would also be disappointed to see kompany start in all honesty too, it’s sad to say, but we have been better visibly and statistically this season when he isn’t in the side.

What’s going on here view?? You are slowing up rapidly, your rate of production deserves a place on the bench… Are you out of contract in the summer? Fishing for better terms perhaps?? Joking aside stick with the same team – were playing well lately & the boss deserves a lot of credit for that…I’m delighted that the top – dog has won the golden boot, well played Mr – aul serg seems sound as a pound to me, absolutely zero maintenance…. Pure class along with the 21, I see anfield was drowning in the usual pool Hollywood weepie again today, nobody does drama more than the pool’ sentimental tosh – get real-get emotional over something that has meaning’ like the death penalty or blah blah – thats why I can’t stand sky – they lap up all this horse manure, they want to control how you think/feel etc, volume is turned well down – sry for the rant Mr view…. I very much enjoyed your articles every week throughout the season, it can’t be easy week in & week out, so a sincere well done Mr.

Re. VFAB, I suspect noboby got him a birthday cake. Apparently “Le view a la PSG” was given a Bugatti Veyron by the royal family of Qatar to celebrate his 100th blog post.

Hahaha! That’s a novel take on the tired Yaya joke. Made me laugh!

Bursting to see Wilfred start but 4-5-1 with Bony coming off the bench is probably the sensible and ultimately right choice.

I would keep the same side, let Toure and Kompany sweat it out on the bench a bit longer. Infact I think Toure has probably played his last game for City, what a player he’s been for us if that’s the case. I’m going for a 2-2 draw with Bony getting the equaliser.
