Liverpool v MAN CITY – The PREVIEW: City’s Probable Team

12 Apr

Vincent Kompany hobbled out of training today and sent a shock around City supporters with fears that he wouldn’t be available to face Liverpool but should the Belgian be able to stand on one leg, such is his importance to the side, I would expect him to play. Gael Clichy’s pace and superior defensive nous should see him get the nod ahead of Aleks Kolarov.

Yaya Touré is a tempting 8/1 and Fernandinho a cracking 20/1 to grab the first goal of the game with William Hill. Bet with them here!

There is the temptation to include Javi Garcia for this fixture to offer an additional layer of protection in front of the back four, but Liverpool’s relentless pressing and buzzing movement would surely highlight Garcia’s deficiencies both in and out of possession, so expect Yaya Touré and Fernandinho to occupy the two central berths, with James Milner competing with Jesus Navas for a place on the right. Sergio Aguero has trained over the past week and could step into the side, with Edin Dzeko dropping to the bench.

David Silva, in such majestic form recently, is 14/1 to open the scoring with Paddy Power. New customers receive a free bet of up £50 here!

Here is the side Pellegrini could select:

Manchester City 4-2-3-1 football formation

Referee: Mark Clattenburg.

Prediction: Liverpool 2 – 2 MAN CITY – This has the potential to be a pulsating affair, both sides far better in attack than they are when defending their own goal. The quality of forward-thinking players on  show is tantalising, and it may well come down to which group handles the pressure of the occasion the best. I’m predicting Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri, Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling to get their names on the scoresheet.

Luis Suarez to open the scoring and the final result to be a 2-2 draw is an astonishing 80/1. Bet with William Hill here!

Martin Demichelis is 40/1 to notch the first goal of the game! Vincent Kompany is a magnificent 150/1 to score the only goal! Open an account here with Paddy Power and get a free bet of up to £50!
