Not only does he cover defense but he links play so well going forward and can do so without taking 3 touches of the ball. The team is a mobile unit and the quality of that starts from the back and hopefully moves through the team. To state that Barry is not the answer to the Stoke problem is a one dimensional view that is unfortunately apparent in many football 'managers' who may have some intelligence, but do not have the sense to view, recognize (hopefully), and then react. They seem to always want to act based upon what limited information they have gleaned from training sessions. Homework is important.
