As rightfully mentioned by the blogger, Savic does not cut it as a CB. I have seen him more composed as an RB. One player I have been impressed with is Jermey Helan. He is really fast and can play in our left wing. We can employ Boyata as a CB as well. At this moment, we only need a world class winger and De Rossi.

I'm not sure that it's permitted on this blog but I'd like to say something positive about Aleks Kolarov. He was very good in the latest game, not a MoM performance by any means, but very good indeed. My apologies for that, moving on..........

I am pretty ancient by the standards of most contributors to blogs so humour me when I say that the well in excess of a half century of being a City supporter has taught me a few things. One of these is that many City fans take a view on a player and then watch every game with that view imbedded. It takes an almost seismic shift to change this. Yaya managed, he has gone from zero to hero, it's not so long ago that Micah was the butt of much criticism but seeems to have weathered it. Most never do and it gets to them. Bridge has gone now so that leaves Kolarov and Savic in the firing line.

Savic struggled horribly to step up to PL level last season and although Mancini tried to play him through the bad patch, his condidence was shot. That brings us to this pre-season. May I enquire as to whether you closed your eyes every time Lily touched the ball? He has gradually regained confidence during these recent matches and friday against the Arse, with one exception, handled his role very tidily.

i agree that Razak's passing needs to improve or he must learn to restrict himself to the sort of short passing game used to great effect by Claud Makelele. I like this lad, he has a bit of the John Obi Mikel about him and looks a winner. Biton also could be a terrific player when he grows up and fills out, the ability is there as is the application, I'd sign him.

I hope the RvP talk is all about making him expensive for the Rags (as per Berbatov). The only player we NEED is a top class DMF like Javi Martinez or Daniele De Rossi, especially if NDJ leaves as seems likely. A proper winger would get more out of Dzeko and in the financial circumstances I'd give Weiss a run of games in Adam Johnson's stead. Adam has so much talent and so little application, Vlad may be the opposite but he's one of ours, very experienced with over 100 first team appearances in top leagues, he's never been a problem, he's always done well and is still only a boy. A chance to play with the likes of Silva, Aguero, YYT etc could be all be needs.

A good blog this, keep it up please.

Was extremely impressed with Biton. Agree with everything you said however i thought his passing was particularly good. He's a very big lad at 6'5" and does everything well and a good engine. If we dont sign him then somebody needs their bumps feeling.

Good article, Biton looks a promising young lad, and will only improve as he gets more playing time and becomes more comfortable. Biton, Yaya, Pantillimon and Zaba were all absolutely fantastic and it will be good to see more young players against Malaysia XI. Suarez and Rekik should start, they need the playing time to prove themselves to Mancini.
